Love Yourself Slim is about empowering the individual with the insights, tools and belief to perform a do-it-yourself recovery. It is about helping people with issues around emotional eating to heal themselves. It is also about bringing together a tribe of likeminded and supportive people in a loving and safe environment to have a place where they can share their stories and be heard and acknowledged.
This isn’t ‘I will make you slim’, it isn’t ‘here’s how to get slim’, it isn’t a diet plan, a workout plan or a step by step guide to shifting weight. What Love Yourself Slim is, is in the title. It is each individual finding their own way to love themselves and in the process, practising self love and in doing that, dropping the old, unproductive habits that no longer serve them.
We all became overweight for a reason. Weight is the symptom and most diet websites treat the symptom with the tools to lose weight. There is nothing wrong with this, but if the cause of the disordered eating is not tackled then the results can be short lived. Excess weight is not the villain here, self directed hate and negativity only serves to perpetuate the cycle we find ourselves trapped in. Love is the cure. When we lead with love our lives flow better and we do better. We make better choices and we feel happier.
This website and the tools on it are here to help bring together resources that will help you to find your own way. The only person who can affect your weight is you. Pick and choose what works, disregard what doesn’t. There is no ‘one size fits all’ – we are all individual and we all have different triggers. Self knowledge is the first step toward healing. Know what you like and what you don’t. Know what you are prepared to tolerate and what you are not. If you don’t yet know these personal parameters, then that’s what we are here for.
